Tamir Blatt, who had a strong personal season with Maccabi Tel Aviv, now faces uncertainty despite agreeing to a three-year deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv worth $1.6 million net per season, his highest salary to date. The agreement has stalled due to internal disagreements within Hapoel Tel Aviv, and currently, there are no ongoing negotiations between Blatt and the club. Blatt has not yet spoken directly with coach Dimitris Itoudis, according to Hapoel Tel Aviv sources.

The coaching staff values Blatt but believes that after years in the EuroLeague, he cannot be just another squad player; he must receive significant playing time, which they feel is not feasible alongside star player Vasa Micić in the current roster. This has created a split within the club between those who want to sign Blatt, Israel's top guard, and others who prefer a less dominant player with lower expectations and a smaller role.

Meanwhile, Hapoel Tel Aviv's coaching team is attending the Las Vegas Summer League to scout a high-level, athletic guard to complement Micić. On the Israeli front, the club is also pursuing Max Heidegger from Spanish team Burgos, hoping he will accept a clearly defined role.
