Actor Peter Van Norden, Known for 'Police Academy 2,' Dies at 75
Peter Van Norden, the actor best known for his role as Vinnie Stollman in the comedy film "Police Academy 2" and for his performance in the mini-series "The Stand," passed away last Thursday in California at the age of 75. His son, Robert, confirmed the news in an Instagram post.
Born in New York, Van Norden began his artistic career on the theater stage, appearing in notable productions such as "Romeo and Juliet." He made his screen debut in 1979 and went on to appear in numerous prominent films, including "The Accused" (1988) alongside Jodie Foster. Throughout his career, he guest-starred in many successful television series such as "Cheers," "Family Ties," "Murder, She Wrote," "ER," and "Days of Our Lives."
In 1994, Van Norden portrayed Ralph Brentner in the mini-series "The Stand," based on Stephen King's novel. He also played Henry Kissinger in the 1990s series "Dark Skies." Van Norden is survived by his wife, Wendy, and his son, Robert.
