Man Drowns and Dies at Ashdod's Metzuda Beach

A man in his 50s drowned on Saturday near Metzuda Beach in Ashdod. Emergency responders from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived after receiving the report in the afternoon and found the man unconscious, without pulse or breathing. Paramedics and medics, including motorcycle paramedic Orel Assoulin and medic Simcha Hassid, performed prolonged resuscitation efforts but ultimately declared his death at the scene.

The incident occurred shortly after another drowning fatality last week in Rishon Lezion, where a 25-year-old man also died despite resuscitation attempts by MDA teams. Paramedic Gal Rosen and emergency medic Nur Hassona described arriving to find the young man unconscious near the waterline and continuing CPR until confirming his death.

These tragic drownings highlight ongoing risks at Israeli beaches and the critical role of rapid emergency medical response. Both cases involved immediate rescue efforts and extended resuscitation attempts by MDA personnel, who were unable to save the victims despite their efforts.
