Moses Wright Set to Join Milan After Barcelona Deal Hits Snag
Moses Wright, one of Europe's top centers, is reportedly set to join an Italian team in Milan after a contract complication with Barcelona. Wright, who excelled last season with Žalgiris Kaunas and attracted interest from Israeli clubs Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Tel Aviv, had previously signed a deal with Barcelona months ago. However, according to Eurohoops, Milan plans to pay Barcelona a buyout of 900,000 euros to acquire Wright without him ever playing for the Catalan club.
Wright's contract with Barcelona was reportedly worth 1.7 million dollars per season over three years, and he has a release clause that several teams, including Hapoel Tel Aviv, might activate. Despite his enthusiasm for joining Barcelona, as expressed in recent media statements, the unexpected turn could redirect his career to Italy.
The American center completed his third EuroLeague season with impressive averages of 13.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Besides Žalgiris, he also played in the EuroLeague for Olympiacos and had brief NBA stints with the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks, totaling four appearances. Wright has also competed in the Chinese and Turkish leagues.
