Moses Wright's Next Destination Likely Italy Despite Israeli Interest
Moses Wright, one of Europe's top centers, is reportedly set to join an Italian team despite interest from Israeli clubs Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv. Wright, who excelled last season with Zalgiris Kaunas, had previously signed a contract with Barcelona months ago. However, according to Eurohoops, his next stop will be Milan, with the Italian club expected to pay Barcelona a buyout of 900,000 euros to acquire him before he ever plays for the Spanish team.
Wright's contract with Barcelona was reportedly worth $1.7 million per season over three years, and he has a release clause that several teams, including the Israeli clubs, could activate. The American player recently expressed strong enthusiasm about joining Barcelona, but the unexpected turn toward Milan may change his future plans.
In his third EuroLeague season, Wright averaged impressive stats of 13.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Besides Zalgiris, he also played for Olympiacos in the competition. His professional experience includes brief stints in the NBA with the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks, as well as playing in the Chinese and Turkish leagues.
