Fire Erupts at Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Western Iran Amid Rising Tensions

Iranian news agency Tasnim reported a fire breaking out at a refinery and petrochemical complex in the city of Beldakhtar, located in Lorestan province in western Iran on Friday. The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions and increased military alertness.

In response to the situation, U.S. Central Command spokesman Captain Tim Hawkins told Sky News Arabia that the U.S. remains on full alert, prepared for any decisions regarding Iran. Concurrently, the U.S. Treasury Department announced new sanctions targeting eight individuals and six companies linked to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Additionally, Iranian media sources reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to travel to Oman the following day to discuss recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz. Separate reports also mentioned an explosion at a military base in southern Iran, with footage circulating on social media.
