Denver Nuggets Pursue EuroLeague Defensive Star Alpha Diallo Amid Contract Clause

The Denver Nuggets are reportedly interested in signing Alpha Diallo, a standout player from AS Monaco, due to an NBA exit clause in his current contract. Diallo, who was named the EuroLeague Defensive Player of the Year last season, has already agreed to a long-term deal with a Dubai-based team for the upcoming season. However, his contract includes a clause allowing him to leave for the NBA until July 15, 2026, which opens the door for a potential move to Denver.

Diallo, 29, was born in New York City but went undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft. He began his professional career in Europe, spending one season with Lavrio in Greece before joining Monaco, where he has played for the past five years. During his tenure, he contributed to Monaco's success, including three French league championships and reaching the EuroLeague final in the 2024/25 season, marking the first time in 32 years a French team reached that stage.

Last season, Diallo led the EuroLeague in steals (1.4 per game) and averaged 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Several NBA teams have expressed interest in acquiring him this summer. The July 15 deadline for exercising the NBA exit clause is approaching, making his potential transfer to the Denver Nuggets a significant development to watch.
