Pagani Founder Celebrates 70th Birthday with Exclusive Manual Supercar
Horacio Pagani, founder of the Italian supercar manufacturer Pagani, marked his 70th birthday with a bespoke vehicle named the Pagani Huayra 70 Derecho. This model is the second of only three Huayra 70 editions produced to commemorate his milestone. The car was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival in England and is named after a powerful, fast-moving storm system known for causing extensive damage over hundreds of kilometers.
The Huayra 70 Derecho features a 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo engine developed by Mercedes-AMG, delivering 864 horsepower and approximately 1,100 Newton-meters of torque. A standout feature is its seven-speed manual transmission, a rarity in modern supercars that typically rely on fast automatic gearboxes and computerized systems. This choice reflects Pagani's commitment to placing the driver at the center of the experience.
The car's design is equally distinctive, with a transparent orange pearl and dark blue coating that reveals the carbon fiber weave beneath. Additional highlights include titanium wheels, an open cockpit, and white leather upholstery with blue stitching. Although the official price was not disclosed, experts estimate it could reach tens of millions of dollars due to its rarity and the exclusivity of Pagani's special models.
For Horacio Pagani, the Huayra 70 Derecho is more than a birthday gift; it is a statement of his enduring belief in the V12 engine, manual transmission, and creating cars that are not only fast but also works of art on wheels.
