Leading Torah Sages Rally to Support Struggling Rashbi Kollel in Bnei Brak

Rabbi Matzliach Bergman, head of the Rashbi Kollel in Bnei Brak, issued a heartfelt plea expressing his inability to continue supporting the institution alone due to declining health. For over 15 years, Rabbi Bergman has personally maintained the kollel, founded by Rabbi Shach, traveling extensively, even at times in a wheelchair, to ensure hundreds of scholars could study in peace. Now, he urgently calls on the community to share the burden and support this vital Torah institution.

In response, prominent Torah leaders and righteous figures, who themselves lead major Torah institutions, rearranged their schedules to attend an emergency gathering at Rabbi Bergman’s home. The meeting was opened by Rabbi Binyamin Finkel with Psalms recited for the success of the "Mesarti Nafshi" fundraising campaign. Rabbi Chaim Feinstein, head of Ateret Shlomo Yeshiva, emphasized the great merit and obligation to support the kollel, praising Rabbi Bergman’s dedication.

Rabbi Meir Hirsch delivered a powerful message underscoring that supporting the kollel is not merely a private matter but a communal responsibility for all of Israel. He urged everyone capable to contribute generously, promising spiritual and material blessings for donors, including livelihood, family harmony, and health.

The event concluded with Rabbi Moshe David Lipkowitz reading a call signed by leading rabbis across Israel, urging broad participation in the "Mesarti Nafshi" campaign to save this historic Torah institution. The gathering demonstrated a unified response to Rabbi Bergman’s distress call, mobilizing support to sustain the Rashbi Kollel’s future.
