IDF Returns to Bint Jbeil 20 Years After Fierce 2006 Battle

Twenty years after the intense 11-hour battle in Bint Jbeil during the 2006 Lebanon War, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have once again taken control of the town. The original 2006 battle saw 17 soldiers awarded medals for their bravery, with eight soldiers killed in action. Recently, Golani Brigade veterans from that battle met with paratroopers who recaptured Bint Jbeil in April, continuing the legacy of Lieutenant Colonel Roi Klein, who sacrificed his life for his comrades during the 2006 conflict. The soldiers expressed a deep connection to the town through the stories passed down, highlighting the enduring significance of the location in IDF history.
