Senior Gur Hasidic Leader Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh Taub Dies Suddenly in Jerusalem

Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh (Yidel) Taub, a prominent figure in the Gur Hasidic community and senior leader of the "Kollel Poland" institutions, passed away unexpectedly at age 76. The incident occurred in the main study hall of the Gur Hasidic community in Jerusalem, where Rabbi Taub collapsed suddenly in front of worshippers. Emergency medical teams from Magen David Adom and volunteers from "Hatzalah" were called to the scene after reports of a man losing consciousness. Paramedics found Rabbi Taub without pulse or breathing and immediately began advanced resuscitation efforts, including chest compressions, artificial respiration, and defibrillation. Despite prolonged attempts, his injuries were severe, and he was pronounced dead at the site.

Rabbi Taub was widely recognized as an influential leader within the Gur community. For over thirty years, he held senior administrative and religious authority in the "Kollel Poland - Rabbi Meir Baal Haness Fund," a position he was appointed to by the late Gur Rebbe, the "Pnei Menachem." He was also the author of the halachic book series "Otzar HaHalachot" and taught the daily "Daf Yomi" Talmud class at the Gur study hall for approximately twenty-five years.

His sudden passing marks a significant loss for the Gur Hasidic community in Jerusalem, where he was both a spiritual guide and a respected scholar. Funeral arrangements and community mourning are expected to follow in the coming days.
