Moshik Afia Declines Hundreds of Thousands Over Fear of Flying
Moshik Afia, the Israeli singer currently experiencing a successful comeback, has turned down lucrative offers to perform at weddings abroad due to a severe fear of flying. Despite receiving proposals worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, including $150,000 and later $250,000 from a couple in Los Angeles who grew up listening to his music, Afia refused to accept. Another offer came from Monaco, offering $200,000 for a wedding performance, which he also declined for the same reason.
Afia's management explained that he preferred not to accept the offers at all rather than agree and then cancel at the airport. His fear of flying was previously revealed during the music reality show "La La Land," where he was supposed to travel to Los Angeles but withdrew at the last moment.
This decision comes amid Afia's career resurgence, marked by a series of successful performances in major venues such as Menora Hall and Sultan Pool. Despite the financial incentives, his anxiety about flying has led him to prioritize his well-being over these high-paying international gigs.
