Texas Teen Survives Lightning Strike While Playing Video Games at Home
A 13-year-old boy from Cypress, Texas, Vlad Skoridin, miraculously survived a lightning strike that hit his bedroom while he was playing video games. The lightning passed through a metal part of his computer desk, striking him directly in the abdomen. Vlad described the moment, saying, "Everything was normal, then suddenly I jumped up and started screaming. I thought I was going to die."
His family believes the lightning initially struck a nearby tree and then traveled through the home's electrical system before reaching the desk. The strike also caused a small fire in the attic, which firefighters quickly extinguished. Medical teams examined Vlad at home and determined he did not require hospitalization. He experienced dizziness and mild shock but sustained no permanent injuries.
