Dedi Simchi Blames Yoaz Hendel for Political Negotiation Failure, Warns of Consequences
Retired Brigadier General Dedi Simchi sharply criticized Yoaz Hendel, chairman of the 'Reservists' party, for the collapse of their political negotiations. In an interview on Galei Yisrael radio with hosts Petahi and Zamri, Simchi placed full responsibility for the breakdown on Hendel and warned that this misstep would have severe political repercussions for him. "Yoaz Hendel made a mistake and he will pay the price," Simchi declared.
When asked about Hendel's future political influence, Simchi confidently stated that once the consequences of Hendel's error become clear, everyone would heed his calls for unity. He urged listeners to wait and said, "You will be surprised."
Simchi revealed that the talks failed due to fundamental disagreements over religion and state issues and the boycott of certain sectors. He expressed his refusal to boycott the ultra-Orthodox community, explaining his plan to demand a military draft law from them before the government is sworn in, but emphasized he does not exclude any group. Simchi also criticized Hendel's demands during the secret negotiations and hinted that Hendel may have acted in bad faith by conducting parallel talks behind the scenes. "Hendel had conditions that were complex for me, especially for someone who carries the banner of unity. You cannot say such things, and apparently, he negotiated simultaneously," Simchi concluded.
