Israel's Innovation Authority and Ministry of Health have announced the launch of the country's first regulatory sandbox dedicated to artificial intelligence in healthcare. Three Israeli companies, Plasanmor, Cordio Medical, and Simahoc, were selected to participate in this pioneering program. The initiative aims to test advanced medical AI technologies with high levels of autonomy to develop regulatory pathways that will facilitate the safe integration of next-generation medical solutions.
Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, CEO of the Ministry of Health, emphasized that modern regulation should not only impose restrictions but also enable innovation to reach patients safely and responsibly. Dr. Alon Stoppel, Chairman of the Innovation Authority, highlighted Israel's unique position to lead both the development of AI technologies and the shaping of their regulatory environment. This program represents a significant step toward advancing AI-driven healthcare in Israel by balancing innovation with patient safety.
