Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem Named Top Middle East Hotel Amid Regional Tourism Accolades

The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem has been recognized as one of the best hotels in the Middle East, ranking third in the Travel + Leisure 2026 awards for the Middle East and North Africa region. It was also named the top hotel in Israel for 2026. Jerusalem itself was ranked the best tourist city in the region and seventh worldwide, based on over 661,000 votes from more than 207,000 readers of the prestigious American travel magazine. In other hospitality news, the Israeli hotel chain Fattal Hotels has acquired The Blakely Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, New York, for approximately $38.5 million. The historic pre-World War II building features 117 rooms, including 42 suites, all larger than typical Manhattan hotel rooms. Fattal plans a comprehensive renovation costing around $13 million, with the hotel closing during the refurbishment and reopening by mid-2027 under one of Fattal’s existing brands.
