Maccabi Haifa Prepares Manuel Benson’s Return as Team Eyes New Foreign Defender

Maccabi Haifa has concluded its training camp in Hungary and returned to Israel, focusing on preparations for the upcoming season. The club is working on rehabilitating winger Manuel Benson, who is still recovering from an injury sustained near the end of last season. According to the medical team, Benson is expected to gradually resume training once the team is back in Israel. Considered one of the highest earners in the squad, the club views Benson as a key player for the new season.

In addition to Benson, two other players, defenders Yila Bataei and Daniel Golani, did not participate in the last friendly match. Bataei was rested due to a recent blow, while Golani experienced fatigue, prompting the coaching staff to avoid risks ahead of further preparations. Meanwhile, Maccabi Haifa is accelerating its search for a foreign central defender after it appears that Radinio Belker is unlikely to join the club. If Pedro does not impress soon, the club also plans to sign an additional foreign defender, potentially replacing him.
