Aura Reports 6% Drop in Apartment Sales in First Half of 2026 Amid Market Challenges
Aura, a residential construction company specializing in urban renewal projects, recorded a 6% decline in apartment sales during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The company sold 291 apartments in the first six months of 2026, down from 309 in the first half of 2025. Despite this decrease, Aura's sales figures remain relatively stable and outperform many competitors, including major industry players struggling in the current market.
In 2024, Aura sold 1,048 apartments, followed by 1,036 in 2025, showing consistent annual sales above 1,000 units. However, about 80% of these sales occurred during promotional campaigns, a trend common across the sector. Most sales tend to happen in the second half of the year; for example, in 2025, 727 apartments were sold in the latter half compared to 309 in the first half, indicating that the company’s full-year sales performance is yet to be fully tested.
Aura attributed part of the sales decline to the closure of its sales offices for about a month during the "Roaring Lion" war. Financial data for the first half of 2026, including the extent of promotional sales, has not yet been released. Notably, the company’s inventory of apartments for sale increased by approximately 30%, from 5,877 units at the end of the first half to 7,695 units currently.
Sales were particularly weak in central Israel projects, with only one or two apartments sold per project in cities like Ramat Gan, Tel Aviv, Givatayim, Bat Yam, Holon, and Ramat Hasharon. In contrast, sales were stronger outside Tel Aviv, with 26 apartments sold in the Silver project in Jerusalem, 9 in the Tel Adashim project in Afula, and 25 in the Machsom 3 project in Ofakim, acquired by Aura in 2024.
Compared to other major developers, Aura has maintained relatively better sales. For instance, DMR Group sold 834 apartments in 2025, down 23% from 1,094 in 2024. Africa Israel Residences sold only 215 apartments in 2025, and Azorim sold 331 apartments in 2025 compared to 551 in 2024.
