Bnei Yehuda Parts Ways with Club Legend Sahar Mizrahi After Seven Years
Sahar Mizrahi, a revered figure and symbol at Bnei Yehuda football club, was unexpectedly dismissed from his role at the club after seven years working in the youth department. Mizrahi, who has maintained a close relationship with fans since his playing days and even during his battle with cancer, was initially offered the chance to manage the club's football school or coach a team. Two months ago, the club's youth professional manager, Rami Luz, told Mizrahi he was valued and asked if he preferred managing the football school, which Mizrahi accepted.
However, a recent meeting took a surprising turn when Luz informed Mizrahi that he would not manage the football school and, moreover, that he would no longer be part of the club. Mizrahi was left without any clear explanation for his dismissal and left the meeting embarrassed and confused. A source close to the club criticized the decision, highlighting Mizrahi's key role in developing recent players such as Jonathan Agipong, Silva Kani, Joel Abka, Shahar Mizrahi, Uri Hassan, Nehorai Zana, and Michael Pistiner.
Bnei Yehuda responded by stating that Mizrahi's departure was part of professional and organizational changes aimed at strengthening the football school’s professional, educational, and community aspects ahead of the new season. The club thanked Mizrahi for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors.
