Bnei Yehuda Parts Ways with Club Legend Sahar Mizrahi After Seven Years

Sahar Mizrahi, a revered figure and symbol at Bnei Yehuda football club, was unexpectedly dismissed from his role at the club after seven years working in the youth department. Mizrahi, who has a long-standing connection with the club and its fans dating back to his playing days, was recently called to a meeting where he was informed he would no longer manage the club's football school, a position he had hoped to continue in. Instead, he was told he would not be part of the club at all, a decision reportedly made by the club’s management.

According to a source close to the club’s youth professional manager, Rami Luz, Mizrahi was initially offered the chance to either coach a team or manage the football school, with Mizrahi choosing the latter. However, in a recent meeting, Luz informed Mizrahi that he would not be managing the school and that the decision to remove him was final. Mizrahi reportedly asked for explanations and who made the decision, but received no clear answers before leaving the meeting in embarrassment.

The dismissal has sparked controversy within the club, with some insiders criticizing the decision given Mizrahi’s significant contributions to developing recent players such as Jonathan Agipong, Silva Kani, Joel Abka, Shahar Mizrahi, Uri Hassan, Nehorai Zana, and Michael Pistiner. Bnei Yehuda responded by stating that Mizrahi’s departure was part of professional and organizational changes aimed at strengthening the football school’s professional, educational, and community aspects ahead of the new season. The club thanked Mizrahi for his service and wished him success in his future endeavors.
