Iran warns ceasefire agreement has become nearly meaningless
Iran's Foreign Ministry issued a statement of condemnation today, Thursday, over last night's American strikes on the country, warning of consequences for the agreement negotiations and threatening additional attacks in response. "After the crimes of the American regime last night, the ceasefire agreement has become nearly meaningless," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei. "Responsibility for the grave consequences lies with the American regime, whose aggression violated international law."
In the statement, Baghaei also sent a threatening message to other Gulf states, claiming that "the American use of the territories and facilities of several countries in the region to prepare for and carry out attacks against Iran has placed those countries alongside the attackers. Tehran remains committed to its right to respond and defend itself."
