Floods in Southern China Release 900 Venomous Cobras into Streets, Prompting Rescue Efforts

Approximately 900 snakes, including venomous cobras, escaped from a breeding farm in Guangxi province, southern China, following severe flooding. Local authorities reported that at least one resident was bitten and required medical treatment, while rescue teams and residents are actively working to capture the snakes and reduce the threat. The local mayor clarified that not all escaped snakes are venomous, noting the farm breeds cobras, king rat snakes, and water snakes. Some residents remain isolated due to difficulties in accessing medical care after snake bites.
