London's Dushinsky Hasidic Community Celebrates Torah School's Five-Year Milestone Without Government Funding

The Dushinsky Hasidic community in London recently celebrated a joyous milestone with a Torah commencement ceremony for the second graduating class of its local Talmud Torah, marking five years since the institution's founding. The event was led by Rabbi Yoel Yaakov Dushinsky, the community's chief rabbi in London, highlighting the rapid growth of the Dushinsky community in the UK, now comprising dozens of families.

This Talmud Torah is the first Dushinsky educational institution established outside Israel and operates under the direct guidance of the Dushinsky Rebbe and the leadership of Rabbi Yoel Yaakov Dushinsky. Uniquely, the school functions solely on religious principles without any government financial support, adhering to the strict traditions set by the dynasty's founder, Rabbi Meiritz Dushinsky, who insisted on maintaining independence from foreign funding.

The school opened in November 2020 as the community expanded and the need for a dedicated educational framework grew. Since then, it has flourished, now educating over 100 students across six grades. Due to increasing enrollment and limited space, a building fund committee is actively working to acquire a large, permanent facility to accommodate the school's growth for the upcoming academic year.

During the ceremony, Rabbi Yoel Yaakov Dushinsky addressed parents and students with words of encouragement and personally distributed Torah books to the children, underscoring the community's commitment to Torah study and spiritual growth.
