Sheba Medical Center and 'Lemaanchem' Expand Cooperation with Dedicated Patient Representative
Sheba Medical Center and the nonprofit organization 'Lemaanchem' have expanded their collaboration by appointing a permanent representative to assist patients at the hospital. This initiative aims to provide personalized support and guidance to patients and their families navigating complex medical cases and the hospital's bureaucratic processes. The representative, Elhanan Maklev, will coordinate inquiries, manage medical files, and accompany families throughout their treatment journey.
The agreement was announced following a professional visit by 'Lemaanchem' leadership to Sheba Medical Center, which has been ranked among the world's top hospitals for eight consecutive years. During the visit, the delegation toured several departments, including nephrology, orthopedics, general surgery, rehabilitation, and oncology, learning about the hospital's advanced medical, research, and technological developments.
Sheba's director, Professor Yitzhak Kreiss, emphasized that the partnership will strengthen patient support while maintaining full medical and professional standards. 'Lemaanchem' chairman Yossi Arbelich highlighted the risk of patients becoming lost in the complex decision-making and administrative processes without a coordinating figure, noting that the permanent representative will provide a single point of contact and personal accompaniment.
This move complements 'Lemaanchem's' ongoing efforts to place representatives in other major Israeli hospitals, such as Beilinson and Schneider, enhancing the organization's nationwide patient support network. The visit included senior hospital officials and 'Lemaanchem' leadership, underscoring the commitment to improving patient care coordination in Israel's healthcare system.
