Lema'anchem Expands Support at Sheba Medical Center with Dedicated Patient Representative
The leadership of the Israeli nonprofit organization Lema'anchem recently visited Sheba Medical Center, which has been ranked among the world's top hospitals for eight consecutive years. During the visit, the delegation toured key departments including the Nephrology and Hypertension Institute, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Rehabilitation Center, and Oncology Institute. They learned about the hospital's advanced medical, research, and technological developments as well as its leading treatment methods.
As part of expanding Lema'anchem's activities in Israeli hospitals, it was agreed that the organization will station a permanent representative, Elhanan Maklev, at Sheba Medical Center. Maklev will assist patients and their families dealing with complex medical cases by coordinating referrals, managing medical files, accompanying families through hospital processes, and providing personalized guidance throughout their treatment.
This initiative complements the organization's existing support system, including Yossi Filmer, who manages hospital activities and assists patients at Beilinson and Schneider hospitals. Lema'anchem is also expanding its network of representatives in additional hospitals.
The Sheba delegation was welcomed by hospital director Prof. Yitzhak Kreiss and senior department heads, while Lema'anchem was represented by its founder and chairman Rabbi Yossi Arbelich, president Prof. Yosef Peres, vice president Dr. Gadi Neuman, project coordinator Prof. Chazi Levi, professional director Dr. Beni Davidson, and external relations manager Amit Geva Carmeli.
Rabbi Yossi Arbelich emphasized the importance of having a dedicated hospital representative, stating that in complex medical cases, patients and families can become overwhelmed without a coordinating figure. He noted that Lema'anchem's representatives provide a personal support framework, centralize the process for families, and ensure timely access to appropriate medical professionals. Establishing a permanent representative at Sheba marks a significant step in broadening the organization's personalized patient support across Israel's hospitals.
