Hapoel Emek Gilboa Galil Afula announced the signing of Nigerian forward Christian Mkwalu as part of their roster preparations for the 2026/27 basketball season. The 31-year-old, standing 2.06 meters tall, has a diverse international career including NCAA college basketball with Tennessee and Texas, and professional stints in Italy, Japan, Lithuania, and Spain.
Mkwalu played last season with Udine in Italy, averaging 9.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He is also an active member of the Nigerian national team, recently scoring 13 points and grabbing 7 rebounds in a game against Rwanda.
