Some Entebbe Operation Veterans Boycott Israeli President's Ceremony Over Netanyahu's Attendance

Israel is currently marking the 50th anniversary of the Entebbe hostage rescue operation. A commemorative ceremony is planned at the residence of President Isaac Herzog. However, it was reported on Monday evening that not all veterans of the operation intend to attend, with many choosing to boycott the event in protest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's participation. The Entebbe operation protocols have recently been declassified, highlighting the military feasibility of the mission. In response to the boycott, the President's residence stated that attendance for the event is expected to be strong and the hall will be full. They emphasized pride in hosting the milestone event and noted that Netanyahu's presence is appropriate both as the serving Prime Minister and as the brother of the late Lieutenant Colonel Yonatan Netanyahu, who was killed during the operation.
