Vizhnitz Rebbe Chooses West Bank City Emmanuel for Historic Weeklong Visit

The Vizhnitz Rebbe from Beit Shemesh is set to spend a full week in the West Bank city of Emmanuel, marking a historic first for a Hasidic leader of his stature to hold an extended stay and Shabbat there. This shift from his usual vacation spots in Europe reflects his strong support for the growing Hasidic community in Emmanuel, which has been steadily developing alongside families of his father-in-law's Vizhnitz court.

Previously, the Rebbe spent several weeks in the British resort town of Hal Dudna or two weeks in Lyzansk, Poland, but this year he chose Emmanuel to rest and connect with his followers. The visit will begin on Thursday, July 20 (24 Tammuz), and continue through the following Thursday, July 27 (2 Av), with the highlight being the Shabbat of Parashat Matot-Masei. During this time, the Rebbe will lead prayers and festive meals, drawing large crowds eager to receive his blessings and guidance.

Preparations for the Rebbe's arrival and the special Shabbat events are underway, with local committees finalizing arrangements to welcome him and unify the community. The Rebbe is known for personally encouraging young Hasidim to settle in Emmanuel and regularly visits to monitor the community's growth. This extended visit underscores his commitment to strengthening Hasidic settlement in the area and fostering spiritual life there.
