Anti-Zionist Activist Posts Names and Photos of Toronto Jews, Raising Community Alarm

In recent days, posters displaying the names and photos of dozens of Jews in Toronto have appeared across the city under the headline "Zionist Jews in Toronto." The posters were put up by an anti-Zionist activist, sparking criticism and fear within the Jewish community. Dr. Casey Babb, a former advisor to the Canadian Minister of Defense, warned that this represents a serious case of publicly marking Jews based on their identity and views. He noted that if any other minority group were targeted similarly, it would become an international issue, emphasizing that the situation in Toronto is more severe than many realize.

Since the October 7, 2023 attack, Canada has seen a sharp rise in antisemitic incidents, including shootings, Molotov cocktail attacks, and arson targeting Jewish institutions such as synagogues and schools. Canadian intelligence services have also thwarted several planned terrorist attacks against the Jewish community. These plots included plans to carry out bombings, shootings, and assaults using axes and knives.
