Maccabi Tel Aviv Negotiates for Forward Astor Sokler Amid Injury Concerns

Maccabi Tel Aviv is actively negotiating to sign forward Astor Sokler from Serbian club Radnicki, following the ongoing injury of their striker Ion Nicolasco, who will miss the start of the season. Reports from Slovenian media indicated that the club is close to acquiring Sokler for around one million euros. Maccabi officials confirmed that talks have been ongoing for several weeks but have not yet concluded, as they continue to evaluate other candidates as well.

The club's hesitation stems from Sokler not being a traditional number 9 striker; he is known for his exceptional speed and ability to play effectively on the wing. During the initial stages of the negotiations, Sokler consulted with Israeli right-back Or Dediya, who played alongside him at Aberdeen. Dediya also addressed Sokler's concerns about the security situation in Israel, reassuring him before the discussions with Maccabi Tel Aviv proceeded. As of now, no final agreement has been reached.
