Dedi Simchi Confirms Gantz Will Lead Joint Party List, Hopes Yoaz Hendel Will Join

Retired Brigadier General Dedi Simchi discussed ongoing negotiations with Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz about forming a joint political party. Simchi expressed hope that Yoaz Hendel, leader of the Reservists' Party, would also join the alliance. He emphasized that their partnership is not about left or right politics but centers on opposing boycotts and prioritizing Israel's interests over Palestinian concerns.

Simchi addressed recent reports suggesting the talks had collapsed due to ideological differences, particularly between him and Hendel over forming a government with ultra-Orthodox parties. Hendel reportedly opposes any government relying on ultra-Orthodox factions, a stance that Simchi said he respects but believes in maintaining broader political flexibility. Simchi confirmed that discussions are ongoing despite no final agreement yet.

Regarding Hili Tropper, who was recently Gantz's partner, Simchi said they would welcome him if he chooses to join. The reported rift also involved disagreements between Gantz and Hendel about cooperating with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. These developments follow an initial agreement among the three to run together in the upcoming elections, though some internal debates remain unresolved.
