Mango Closes Dizengoff Center Store After Nearly a Decade
The Mango fashion store in Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Center has unexpectedly closed after operating there for about ten years. The store was located on the third floor of Building A, near the junction of bookstores and a children's play area. Initially, the branch sold clothing for women, men, and children, but in recent years it focused mainly on women's apparel. Prior to this location, Mango operated in a two-story store at the mall's street-facing entrance, now occupied by Adidas. Overall, Mango had a presence in the mall for approximately 18 years.
Mango, a Spanish fashion retailer founded in the 1980s in Barcelona by brothers Nahman and Isaac Andic, who are of Turkish-Jewish descent, operates over 2,900 stores in around 120 countries. In Israel, Mango has more than 45 branches, managed under a franchise by the Fox Group, and also sells products online through Terminal X.
Representatives from Fox Group stated that the store closed at its current location as they seek a more central spot within the mall. Dizengoff Center management confirmed that the lease agreement ended by mutual consent and that negotiations are underway with a leading non-fashion brand to lease the vacated space. Meanwhile, both the mall and Mango are exploring alternative locations within the center for the brand's store.
