The French player, who averaged 18.2 points per game with impressive shooting percentages last season, had been linked to several teams including Maccabi Tel Aviv, Barcelona, and Villeurbanne. However, recent reports from BasketNews indicate he has chosen to join Real Madrid, a move that could lead to the departure of Mario Hezonja, with Real Madrid expected to demand a buyout for Hezonja.

Luwawu-Cabarrot played in the NBA from 2016 to 2022 before returning to Europe, where he competed for Milan, Villeurbanne, and Baskonia, winning the Spanish Cup with the latter this year. His scoring prowess placed him fourth in the EuroLeague last season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona is reportedly targeting forward Nikola Mirotic, who is considering a return to the club after leaving Monaco this summer.
