Missing Dementia Patient Found Safe in Jerusalem After Extensive Search

Solomon Amzalag, a 70-year-old resident of Atneil suffering from dementia, went missing after leaving his family home in Beitar Illit on Saturday evening. Following a wide-scale search operation that began around 6 p.m., dozens of volunteers from the Etzion-Yehuda police rescue unit, officers from the Judea district, and local residents combed the area using advanced technological tools to locate him.

After many hours of searching, Amzalag was found early Sunday morning near the Rozmarin neighborhood in Jerusalem, several kilometers from where he disappeared. He was safely returned to his family. The police expressed gratitude to everyone who assisted in the search and helped disseminate information about the missing person.

The search operation highlights the challenges of locating vulnerable individuals with dementia and the community and police cooperation in such emergencies.
