Houston Man Faces Assault Charges for Shooting People with Water Guns in Viral Videos

Christopher Case, a 34-year-old man from Houston, has been charged with two counts of assault after police investigated videos he posted online showing him spraying people with powerful water guns. The videos depict Case driving around the city and dousing individuals, including homeless people and those with disabilities, often without their consent. Some victims were caught off guard while walking, waiting at bus stops, or even sleeping, and in one video, Case allegedly lured a woman with money before spraying her in the face.

Houston police announced that the charges include assault causing bodily harm, following inquiries by the major crimes unit and local enforcement teams. The videos, which have garnered hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of likes, sparked mixed reactions online; some viewers found them humorous, while others condemned them as abuse of vulnerable individuals. Authorities confirmed that Case mocked his victims and recorded their reactions during the incidents.

In an interview with ABC13 after his arrest, Case expressed remorse, stating, "I am sorry for this a thousand percent, and not just because I got caught." He claimed he did not intend to harm anyone and that the water guns were set to the lowest pressure. Case also described himself as a religious person who prayed before filming the videos. He pointed out that he also helped homeless people by distributing food and clothing, though he admitted that such positive content did not attract as many views as the water gun videos.

Case acknowledged using the term "zombies" to describe some targets, which he said was meant as a content device rather than a reflection of his true feelings. He was arrested last Thursday and released on bail, with a court date set for July 9. Case stated he has stopped making water gun videos and surrendered his equipment, saying, "I’m done shooting anyone."
