Boaz Golan Secures MK Moshe Saada's Commitment on Live Broadcast Over Yemen Video Leak Investigation
During a live broadcast on Channel 14, Boaz Golan obtained a public commitment from Member of Knesset Moshe Saada that by September, following the appointment of a new head of the Police Investigations Department (Mahash), former Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi and legal advisor Gali Baharav-Miara will be investigated in connection with the leaked video from the Yemen incident. This unusual move by Golan echoes a similar tactic used by former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
The pledge from Saada comes amid ongoing efforts to appoint a new head for Mahash. As previously reported, attorney Avi Amiram, who represented the commander of Unit 100 in the Military Advocate General case, has been appointed to the selection committee for the new Mahash director. The committee has also issued a call for candidates, with the application deadline set for one week from now.
According to the law, the new Mahash director must be qualified to serve as a judge and have investigative experience. The term is budgeted for six years but can be shortened if the selection committee decides to dismiss the director before the end of the term.
