Right-Wing Activist Baruch Marzel Claims Yair Golan Is Not Left-Wing
Right-wing activist Baruch Marzel surprised many on Sunday by asserting that Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic camp, is not actually a left-wing figure. Marzel argued that those who consider Golan left-wing likely do not know his background as a commander of the West Bank Division, where he was a strong supporter of the "Neighbor Procedure" and closely connected to the settlement movement. Marzel noted that many who knew Golan at that time believed he would enter politics from the right. However, he concluded that Golan turned out to be devoid of any clear ideology.
In the same context, Marzel harshly criticized former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot, calling him "a bad and stupid man, zero, a thousand times more dangerous than Yair Golan." These remarks reflect ongoing tensions within Israeli political and military discourse regarding ideological alignments and leadership qualities.
