IDF Unveils 2025 Plan to Upgrade Conditions for Nukhba Terrorist Detainees

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has revealed an internal work plan aimed at improving the detention conditions for Nukhba terrorist prisoners, as reported by Galei Tzahal correspondent Tuvia Yaglnik. The plan outlines a series of infrastructure upgrades and ethical training initiatives to be implemented in military detention facilities throughout 2025, following lessons learned from the Sheba Teiman incident.

Key measures include the immediate installation of hot water systems in detainees' cells and enhancements to medical services, such as increasing the number of doctors and adding a dedicated dental treatment bed. The plan also emphasizes embedding the "spirit of the IDF" values among soldiers guarding the prisoners, including ethics seminars for commanders, appointing ethics trustees at facilities, developing specialized training modules on ethical incidents, and prominently displaying ethics and IDF spirit guidelines throughout the detention centers.

Attorney Michael Litvak, who obtained the information through a freedom of information request, criticized the plan, stating, "It is once again clear that the State of Israel is obligated to provide terrorists with hot water while our hostages endured torture and starvation in explosive tunnels. It is time to move the terrorists from prison to the grave."
