Massachusetts Family Finds Missing Cat Trapped Under New Bathtub After 30 Hours

A Massachusetts family from Needham was reunited with their missing white cat, Fluffy, after he was trapped under a newly installed bathtub for 30 hours during home renovations. The Kirbys initially believed Fluffy had escaped outside through the front door amid the construction. They printed missing cat posters, hired a pet tracking expert with a German shepherd, and left treats outside, but none of these efforts helped locate him.

The breakthrough came when Melissa Kirby heard a faint meow from the upstairs bathroom while she was crying. Upon investigation, she spotted a paw sticking out from a hole in the bathroom floor near the new bathtub. Her husband, Ed Kirby, immediately called an emergency plumber, explaining the urgency was not a leak but their cat trapped beneath the tub.

Within an hour, Fluffy was safely rescued and returned home unharmed. The family now plans to attach an AirTag to Fluffy to prevent future incidents or quickly locate him if he gets stuck again. Melissa expressed relief and disbelief, saying, "I thought I would never see him alive again."
