IDF Completes Foundational Phase of First Officer Course in Haredi Brigade
The first cohort of the "Field" track in the Hachshmonaim Brigade's officer course completed its foundational training phase in a ceremony held at Tel Faher in the Golan Heights on Wednesday. The event was led by the brigade commander, Brigadier General Sh., alongside training commanders. The cadets earned their squad leader pins after completing a 12-kilometer march. They will continue with an additional four months of military training in the "Gefen" track, conducted partly alongside general infantry training at Bahad 1, before taking on various officer roles within the Haredi brigade.
The IDF emphasized that the course adhered to the army's professional standards and included all content taught at Bahad 1, while fully respecting the Haredi lifestyle. This inaugural Haredi officer course marks a significant milestone in the IDF's efforts to integrate the Haredi sector and develop a Haredi command cadre within the Hachshmonaim Brigade.
Brigadier General Sh. addressed the cadets, highlighting the importance and difficulty of their training, especially amid the current national turmoil. He likened the cadets to Noah's ark, standing firm through the storm, and expressed confidence that once the crisis ends, they will lead the brigade and the nation forward. The ceremony underscores the IDF's commitment to fostering leadership within the Haredi community while maintaining military excellence.
