Actor Danny Steg, who returned to religious observance about two decades ago, recently dedicated a beautifully written Torah scroll to the Gra Synagogue in Tel Aviv, where he has served as a gabbai for many years. The ceremony, held in memory of his late parents, drew hundreds of worshippers, friends, and family members. Steg described the event as "the happiest moment of my life," expressing deep emotion over bringing the Torah to the synagogue where he prays daily.

Steg is a well-known figure in the Tel Aviv Haredi community, balancing a successful acting career with a committed religious lifestyle, including refraining from work on Shabbat and holidays. He studied at the Netivot Olam yeshiva in Bnei Brak and maintains close relationships with prominent rabbis and spiritual leaders. He was a devoted student of Rabbi Avraham Aryeh Adret of Netivot Olam for 25 years and also had a close connection with Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, whom he consulted regularly.

In past interviews, Steg shared insights into his spiritual journey, describing his daily routine of prayer, Torah reading, and his role as the synagogue's gabbai and shofar blower on Rosh Hashanah. He recounted how he began observing Shabbat despite industry pressures and was told he would no longer be considered an artist, yet he persisted and continues to earn a living through acting.
