Israeli Father Caught Letting 9-Year-Old Son Drive on Public Road

An unusual incident occurred recently on Road 806 in northern Israel when police officers conducting routine enforcement stopped a private vehicle and discovered a 9-year-old boy behind the wheel. The boy's father, a 63-year-old resident of Arraba, was seated beside him and admitted to allowing his son to drive on a public road. The father explained that he was undergoing a difficult divorce process and said, "I wanted to do good for the child," attempting to justify his dangerous action.

The police immediately stopped the vehicle and arrested the father for further investigation. He was taken to the police station for questioning and a hearing before a police officer. Following the hearing, the vehicle was impounded for 30 days under legal authority. The police emphasized the severity of the offense, noting it could have resulted in a serious accident endangering the child, passengers, and other road users.
