Nili Margalit Demands Answers on Missing Captives After October 7 Attack
Nili Margalit, a survivor of captivity who lost her father in the October 7 massacre, spoke at a "Shift 101" demonstration marking 1,000 days since the war began. She expressed her anguish and demand for accountability regarding fellow captives who did not return alive. Margalit named several individuals, including Haim, Alex, Yoram, Yagav, and Nadav, who were held captive with her and could have been rescued but were not. She questioned why 44 civilians who were kidnapped alive and could have been saved were instead abandoned to death. Margalit emphasized that they will not remain silent or allow the memory of these victims to fade. She called for the establishment of a single, official state commission of inquiry capable of providing answers about the fate of the captives and the failures surrounding their rescue.
