US Air Force Unveils Upgraded Boeing 747-8 'Air Force One' Gifted by Qatar

The US Air Force has officially introduced its new Boeing 747-8, nicknamed the "Palace in the Sky," which was gifted by Qatar at an estimated value of $400 million. This aircraft replaces the previous Boeing 747 model that served US presidents for about 20 years and features significant upgrades in size, luxury, and technology tailored to former President Donald Trump's preferences.

The new plane is approximately 6 meters longer and has a wingspan 9 meters wider than its predecessor, leading Trump to describe it as "the largest commercial plane ever built." It underwent comprehensive security checks, including advanced anti-surveillance measures, and is equipped with cutting-edge technology to meet presidential mission requirements.

Inside, the interior design reflects soft tones of brown, beige, and cream, accented with gold elements such as gilded walls and lighting fixtures, aligning with Trump's style. Passenger comfort has been greatly enhanced with larger, more spacious seats featuring increased legroom and built-in massage functions. The White House staff area includes luxurious sofas, and all seat belts bear the official presidential seal.

Technological improvements focus on personalized flight experiences; each seat now has an individual screen offering cable news channels and Apple TV content, as well as personal device chargers. This marks a major change from the older model, which had shared screens and non-reclining seats. The aircraft is expected to be in active use by the president in the coming days.
