US Air Force Unveils Upgraded Air Force One Gifted by Qatar with Luxury Features
The US Air Force has officially introduced its new Boeing 747-8 presidential aircraft, nicknamed "the palace in the sky." Valued at approximately $400 million and gifted by Qatar, the plane has been extensively upgraded and customized to meet the high standards and personal tastes of President Donald Trump. This new model replaces the previous Boeing 747, which served US presidents for about 20 years, and features significant enhancements in size, luxury, and technology.
The aircraft is about 6 meters longer and has a wingspan 9 meters wider than its predecessor, leading President Trump to describe it as "the largest commercial airplane ever built." It has undergone thorough security checks, including advanced anti-surveillance measures, and is equipped with cutting-edge technology to fulfill presidential mission requirements, according to a senior administration official.
Inside, the interior design reflects Trump's preferences, with soft tones of brown, beige, and cream throughout the cabin. Gold accents are prominent, including gold-plated walls and lighting fixtures. Passenger comfort has been greatly improved with larger, more spacious seats featuring extended legroom and built-in massage functions. The White House staff area includes luxurious sofas, and all seat belts bear the official presidential seal.
Technological upgrades focus on personalized flight experiences. Unlike the older model, where seats did not recline and TVs were shared in the front cabin, each seat now has an individual screen offering cable news channels and the latest Apple TV content, along with personal charging ports for electronic devices. The new Air Force One is expected to be operational for the president's busy schedule in the coming days.
