Right-Wing Could Win 70 Knesset Seats If Security Fronts Resolve, Says Yoram Shaptel

Yoram Shaptel, a prominent and provocative right-wing Israeli lawyer, sharply criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's Middle East policies, calling his visions for Gaza and Iran unrealistic and deceptive. Shaptel described Trump's "peace vision" for Gaza as "foolish, false, and dishonest," and dismissed the idea of dismantling Iran's nuclear and missile capabilities as an illusion. He also ridiculed Trump's repeated claims that 51 countries are lined up to disarm Hamas, stating that Trump "has no idea what he is talking about." Regarding Trump's threats against Iran, Shaptel said the world no longer takes them seriously, comparing them to a barking dog that never bites.

Despite his harsh critique, Shaptel expressed optimism about the upcoming Israeli elections, suggesting that a decisive outcome on one or more security fronts could dramatically boost the right-wing bloc's Knesset seats to at least 70. Even without such breakthroughs, he predicted a narrow right-wing victory similar to the last election, noting that "the public has shifted strongly to the right" since then.
