The average gross salary for Israeli salaried employees in May 2026 reached 14,277 shekels, according to preliminary estimates from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The total number of salaried jobs in Israel in May was 4.154 million, reflecting a 2.3% rise from April 2026 and a modest 0.2% increase year-over-year.
Updated data for April 2026 show the average salary at 14,374 shekels, up 522 shekels (3.8%) from April 2025. The high-tech sector continues to exhibit a significant wage gap compared to the general economy. In April, the average high-tech employee salary was 34,870 shekels, an increase of 2,074 shekels or 6.3% from the previous year. The number of high-tech salaried positions in April totaled 398,600, up 0.7% from March and 0.9% compared to April 2025. High-tech jobs accounted for 9.8% of all salaried positions nationwide.
