Two Killed and Two Seriously Wounded in Overnight Shootings in Haifa and Reineh
In a violent night between Wednesday and Thursday, two people were fatally shot and two others seriously injured in separate incidents in the Arab community, one at a gas station in Haifa and another in Reineh near Nazareth. In Haifa, emergency teams found an 18-year-old man dead at the scene and evacuated two additional victims in serious condition to Rambam Hospital. Another person with minor injuries arrived at the hospital independently. Police launched a criminal investigation and are conducting searches for suspects, with initial findings indicating a criminal motive. Senior police commanders, including the Carmel District Commander Deputy Commissioner Boaz Smucha and Haifa District Commander Commissioner Yechiel Bohadana, held on-site assessments and assigned the investigation to the Carmel District Crime Fighting Unit.
The shooting report in Haifa was received by Magen David Adom (MDA) around midnight. Paramedics described finding three men with severe gunshot wounds, one without pulse or breathing, who was declared dead at the scene. Two others received life-saving treatment and were hospitalized in serious condition. ZAKA volunteers assisted with the scene management and forensic evidence collection. Shortly after, a man in his 30s was shot in Reineh. MDA paramedics attempted resuscitation but confirmed his death due to severe penetrating injuries.
Police are exploring multiple investigative leads as they continue their search for suspects involved in these shootings, which highlight a troubling loss of control and surge in violence within the Arab community in northern Israel.
