Hapoel Jerusalem to Receive $500,000 Transfer Fee for Austin Wiley

Austin Wiley, the 27-year-old center, will leave Hapoel Jerusalem after two impactful seasons with the team. Wiley activated an exit clause in his contract, signaling his departure from the capital's club. Any team interested in acquiring his services will need to pay approximately half a million dollars to Hapoel Jerusalem.

During the past season, the club offered Wiley a two-year contract extension worth $2.2 million, which he was willing to accept. However, after he left midway through the semifinal series due to security concerns, the club withdrew the offer, meaning he would have stayed only under his current contract terms.

Wiley's departure leaves a significant gap in coach Sasha Obradovic's lineup, as the center was one of the most stable and influential players over the last two years, serving as a key frontcourt anchor. In the recent EuroCup season, he averaged 10.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Reports from Europe indicate that French team Villeurbanne has expressed interest in signing him.
