International Chiquititas Musical Premieres in Tel Aviv with Original Cast and New Stars

The internationally renowned musical "Chiquititas" is set to premiere on August 12 at Expo Tel Aviv, celebrating 30 years since the original series captivated generations. The production features beloved songs, characters, and a story about a group of children discovering love, friendship, and belonging. The cast includes returning star Liat Aharon, who originally starred in the show 26 years ago and now plays the antagonist Mrs. Moran, alongside new talents such as Yadin Gilman and Amit Farkash, who plays the iconic role of Belén.

Liat Aharon expressed excitement about rejoining the stage after a long hiatus, highlighting the production's vibrant and meticulous nature. She also reflected on her recent social media post about personal struggles, emphasizing her artistic growth and desire to move forward. Amit Farkash, who grew up watching the original series, described her role as a warm, motherly figure and praised the musical’s appeal to both children and adults.

Yadin Gilman, a rising star who was injured in October and is currently recovering, shared his enthusiasm for the musical, which aligns with his age group and cultural background. He also spoke about his efforts to inspire youth away from violence through lectures and storytelling. Producer Maor Maimon, who previously founded the Tel Aviv Theater for Musicals, discussed the challenges and hopes tied to this international project, emphasizing his belief in its success and global potential.

The musical features original music by Carlos Nilson, arrangements by Gerardo Gardelin, and is directed by Shahar Peretz. The production is a collaboration between toMix, Gal Amitai, and Maor Maimon, aiming to revive the beloved franchise with new songs and a fresh perspective while honoring its legacy.
